Introducing our new flagship – the EOS R1 has been designed with the demands of the professional sports, news and action photographer in mind. It’s built for speed, boasting a top shooting speed of 40 fps and a fastest shutter speed of 1/64,000sec. This is all made possible by a new 24.2-megapixel back-illuminated, stacked sensor, that also virtually eliminates rolling shutter distortion. Hybrid shooters will love the EOS R1’s 6K RAW 60p video footage.
The EOS R5 MARK II mixes speed and resolution and excels at any genre of photography or filmmaking. A 45-megapixel sensor is fast enough to deliver continuous shooting up to 30fps, plus a variety of video formats, up to and including 8K 60p Light RAW.
Both of these cameras use the latest DIGIC Accelerator processor, working alongside a DIGIC X processor to handle unprecedented levels of data at blistering speed, giving photographers and filmmakers new creative possibilities.
- 1/64,000 sec top shutter speed, with virtually no rolling shutter distortion
- Customisable continuous shooting up to 40 fps shooting, with 20 frame Pre-continuous shooting
- Dual Pixel Intelligent AF, now with Cross Type AF
- Action Priority AF mode that puts the focus on subjects in football, volleyball and basketball
- 17-megapixel stills and Full HD video at the same time, thanks to Dual Shooting
A class-leading 9.44m dot electronic viewfinder outperforms many optical viewfinders, and the camera’s super-fast Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity (including MIMO antennas) and built in 2.5 G BASE-T ethernet makes it easy to get images back to the client first.
AHEAD OF THE GAME
Sports photography can be almost as competitive as the action on the pitch. That’s why we developed the EOS R1– a camera that lets you shoot faster, capture defining moments, and get images and video back to your client first – winning the top spot on the page.
THE ULTIMATE ASSISTANT
At your side, helping you shoot the best work of your creative career
CREATIVITY THROUGH TECHNOLOGY
Since 1989, Canon EOS-1 series cameras have led the way for professional sports, news and action photographers. As the result of 35 years of evolution the EOS R1 looks to the future as our flagship EOS camera.
AUTOFOCUS POWERED BY DEEP LEARNING
The EOS R1 harnesses the power of deep-learning to identify subjects, while its DIGIC Accelerator processor tracks and captures them more accurately than ever. Action Priority mode can even identify the subject based on the action, helping you predict what is coming next.
EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE – NOW AS STANDARD
Freeze fleeting moments in time like never before: 40 frames per second continuous shooting pairs with a lightning-fast 1/64,000 sec electronic shutter and minimal rolling shutter distortion for incredible results.
GO BACK IN TIME WITH PRE-CONTINUOUS SHOOTING
Half press the shutter release button to begin continuously buffering 20 frames. At the moment you take the shot, these ‘pre-captured’ frames are stored too. At EOS R1’s maximum 40fps shooting speed, this means you’ll record the half-second before you pressed the shutter release. At slower shooting speeds, the pre-capture time gets longer, giving you even more flexibility.
