Versatile Construction
Weighing only 1.2 lb and measuring 4.5" when not extended, the lens is extremely portable while boasting a massive zoom range from ultra-wide 20mm to telephoto 200mm.
The lens features a focus mode switch as well as a zoom lock to prevent it from extending under its own weight. The zoom lock can also be released via zoom operation, ensuring the lock won't make you miss a shot. A water- and oil-repellent coating on the front lens element makes it possible to shoot in harsh outdoor environments, while the dust- and splash-resistant construction keeps the internal elements protected.
Innovative Optical Design
Sigma combines four aspherical elements, three Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements, and one F Low Dispersion (FLD) element to ensure clarity throughout the zoom and aperture range. A total of 18 elements in 14 groups, as well as a 9-blade rounded diaphragm, maintain high optical precision across the zoom range while keeping the lens compact and light.
